DRUG INTERACTION None mentioned. MECHANISM OF ACTION Silymarin is an active principle from the fruit of Silybum marianum, which contains a mixture of flavonolignans. It reduces the turnover of membrane phospholipids and stabilises the cell membranes of hepatocytes. It has potent antioxidant action and prevents lipid peroxidation. Ursodeoxycholic Acid (300mg) TYPICAL USAGE Cholestrol gall stones, dissolution of gallstones, iron-deficiency anaemia with chronic renal failure. SIDE EFFECTS Diarrhea. DRUG INTERACTION Ursodeoxycholic acid is known to interact with other drugs like chenodeoxycholic acid. MECHANISM OF ACTION Ursodeoxycholic acid suppresses hepatic synthesis and secretion of cholesterol and also inhibits intestinal absorption of cholesterol.
