SIDE EFFECTS Bronchospasm, decreased cardiac performance, cardiogenic shock, bradycardia, AV-block, necrosis of extremities, dizziness, tiredness, headache, cold extremities, sweating, impotence, weakness of the leg. DRUG INTERACTION Bisoprolol is known to interact with other drugs like adrenaline, amiodarone (HCl), cimetidine (HCl), clonidine (HCl), digoxin, diltiazem (HCl), indomethacin, naproxen, nifedipine, rifampicin, theophylline, verapamil (HCl). Always consult your physician for the change of dose regimen or an alternative drug of choice that may strictly be required. MECHANISM OF ACTION Bisoprolol selectively blocks catecholamine stimulation of ?1-adrenergic receptors in the heart and vascular smooth muscle. This results in a reduction of heart rate, cardiac output, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and possibly reflex orthostatic hypotension.
